Grants protected cultural status to tango
Tango has been granted protected cultural status by UNESCO — a ruling that will be celebrated in Argentina and Uruguay, both of which claim to be the birthplace of the sensual dance. The decision was taken by 400 delegates from the UN cultural organization at a meeting in Abu Dhabi. A total of 76 living arts and traditions from 27 countries were safeguarded as part of humanity’s “intangible cultural heritage”.
Aerolineas Argentinas will have 12 new airplanes in February 2010
In February 2010, Aerolineas Argentinas will operate 12 new B-737/700 airplanes waiting for receiving next year 9 Embraer 190 units of 20 of them , meanwhile the long distance fleet will be enriched with the gradual arrival of seven Airbus 340 and six Airbus 330.
Ibis and Novotel has already opened in Buenos Aires
Accor Hospitality inaugurated the hotels Novotel and Ibis, both of them placed at the center of Buenos Aires. Novotel Buenos Aires is placed at Av. Corrientes and it emphasizes because of its modern and innovative style with superior category for business and leisure time travelers. It has 127 rooms and two suites distributed in 12 floors. Also, Ibis Buenos Aires Obelisco placed at Av. Corrientes will have 168 rooms.

Rio de Janeiro will be the venue for the Olympic Games in 2016
Rio de Janeiro will be the organizer venue for the Olympic Games in 2016 advantaging the cities of Chicago, Tokyo and Madrid. This is the first time that the Olympic Games will be carried out in South America.
GOL began to operate its first flight to The Caribbean
GOL began regular operations between Brazil, Venezuela and Aruba. The flight with a weekly frequency will leave on Sundays from Guarulhos International Airport with scale in Caracas (Venezuela) and operated with Boeing 737-800 Next Generation airliners, the new route will be operated by the brand VARIG.
American flights again to Rio in November
In November, American Airlines will have extra seasonal flights to Rio de Janeiro and the Northeast of Brazil. From October 16th, Recife and Salvador will have daily frequencies.
Avianca and OceanAir with code sharing
Avianca y OceanAir will join Colombia flights with five Brazilian destinations such as Salvador, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre and Florianopolis. The airplanes of OceanAir will have the same standard of Avianca. The programs of fidelidad Amigo (Friend Fidelity) and Avianca Plus will also be added.
Delta Air Lines will fly between Brasilia and Atlanta from December 18th
On December 18th, Delta Air Lines will begin to fly between Brasilia and Atlanta in The United States. The flight which will be operated three times a week will be carried out with a Boeing 757.

New lodging for tourists in the Lake Titicaca
Settlers of the village of Sampaya placed at the shore of the Lake Titicaca just to 25 minutes from Copacabana, a lodging was inaugurated which is comprised of stone small houses with double and simple rooms and private bathrooms. There is also a restaurant and a viewpoint to the lake.
BOA premieres its third airplane
Boliviana de Aviacion –BoA premieres an airplane which will be added to its current fleet of two airplanes. With this new airplane BoA plans to extend its national route until Cobija (Pando) and to begin operations to Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and Lima in December.

First Community Museum is inaugurated in Pisac
The Pisac Municipality (Cusco) and the Community Museum Association inaugurated its first community museum of the country. The place presents an exhibition about the traditional production. Also, the archeology of Pisac is exhibited including the development from the archaic period until the Inca expansion period apart from presenting 100 Pre-Hispanic places from places which reflect activities of the ancient nomadic groups up to the real state of Pachacutec.

VENEZUELA
It is created the first Venezuelan cruises line
Ola Cruises which is a division of water services in Venezuela announced the creation of the first Venezuelan cruises line in November which will have the destinations of the Venezuelan Caribbean. The Ola Esmeralda ship with capacity for 474 people will travel La Tortuga Island, Margarita and the archipelago Los Roques. This cruise has two routes of three and four days.
