UNWTO pomaže CNN-u da #restarttourism oglašavanje

It may not be the best time to #RESTARTTOURISM yet. Infection numbers in Europe and North America are soaring, death rates are at record high, but the UNWTO elections are coming up. The UNWTO Secretary-General wants tourism ministers from the 35 executive committee countries to get on a plane to Madrid in January and vote for him. What better way is there to do that than to announce a #restarttourism campaign with CNN? It will be a winner for UNWTO and an advertising revenue creator for CNN.

According to former Assistant UNWTO Secretary General, Professor Geoffrey Lipman, an initial partnership with CNN was established under the then Secretary General Francesco Frangialli who served from 1997 to 2009. When Taleb Rifai became Secretary General in 2010, he was reluctant to continue this agreement. Anita Mendiratta became the advisor to Rifai and suggested to form the CNN Task Group to widen the partnership. The CNN Task Group included CNN, eTurboNews, IATA, and ICAO, and so Dr. Rifai agreed to continue. This Task Group generated substantial advertising revenue for CNN.

Mendiratta is currently serving as top advisor to Zurab Pololikashvil. South Africa-based consultant Mendiratta was the key organizer of the CNN Task Group partnership, producing dozens of articles na eTurboNews platform. She also represented CNN Commercial.

CNN TASK GROUP

eTurboNews walked away from the CNN Task Group shortly before Dr. Rifai resigned. eTurboNews did not generate revenue and decided to keep editorial and advertorial separated.

Today, 7 years later, current UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili continued a similar arrangement taking full credit for it, saying: “The restart of tourism brings new hope and new opportunity for millions around the world. We are proud to be working again with CNN to send such a positive and inspiring message. Tourism has the power to bring us back together, giving us unforgettable experiences while also supporting jobs, helping businesses, and protecting culture and our natural heritage.”

This latest #RESTARTTOURISM campaign has the potential to generate millions in much-needed advertising for CNN.

The minute Zurab Pololikashvili took office on January, 1, 2018 he made clear that he was no longer friends with Dr. Taleb Rifai.

Ironically this latest campaign between UNWTO and CNN was also put together by Anita Mendiratta, who is now the closest advisor for the current UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili. Anita’s consulting firm is now based in London, the same city CNN Commercial has been located in.

Today Dr. Rifai together with former Secretary-General  Francesco Frangialli and former assistant secretary-general Professor Geoffrey Lipman want Pristojnost u UNWTO Election Campaign and is leading a campaign in partnership with the World Tourism Network.

No longer involved with the CNN Task Group, eTurboNews započeo a rebuilding.travel discussion in March 2020.

eTurboNews has not been looking for advertising and allowed anyone to be part of this important discussion.
